Abstract

To date, it is clearly defined that type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM-2) is one of the leading risk factors for coronary heart disease (CHD) and myocardial infarction (MI). It was found that 80% of all deaths among people with diabetes are caused by cardiovascular diseases (CVD), and life expectancy depends on the time of their manifestation. If we compare the mortality rate from CVD in the general population and among patients with diabetes mellitus-2, in the latter it is several times higher.
