In the anamnesis, the patient was treated by many doctors of various specialties, but only the seventh urologist suspected the presence of a tumor of the parathyroid gland. An operative intervention was performed, which led to a significant improvement in well-being and normalization of calcium-phosphorus metabolism indicators. A feature of the case is the normal level of ionized calcium before and after surgery. Therefore, in the presence of a clinical picture of hyperparathyroidism and/or its complications, mandatory serial determination of the level of parathyroid hormone, total and ionized calcium in the blood is advisable.
