Abstract

Type 2 diabetes risk factors were examined based on the screening of municipal clinics. We revealed a significant prevalence of hypertension, overweight, obesity, family history of diabetes and other endocrine diseases among examined subjects, and obstetric history in women. These factors are the main risk factors for type 2 diabetes. Received data justify the necessity of type 2 diabetes permanent screening not only in abovementioned clinics but also in all health care facilities with follow-up register of diabetic patients at national level.
