Abstract

The effect of taurine-containing drug on the development of visceral obesity in rats was studied with the syndrome of insulin resistance on the background of estrogen deficiency, which was kept on a high-fat diet. It was found that oral administration of taurine-containing drug, in the absence of stimulating effect on proliferative processes in the uterus, improves tolerance to carbohydrates and sensitivity to insulin, inhibits the development of abdominal obesity, weight gain body. The obtained results substantiate the prospects of using taurine-containing drug for pharmacological correction of the main components of postmenopausal metabolic syndrome.
