Abstract

The medical and social significance of the problem under study is largely due to a significant level of disability and mortality due to the development of late complications of type 2 diabetes mellitus, which affects about 3% of the Ukrainian population. In diabetes mellitus, both the endocrine and exocrine functions of the pancreas are secondarily affected, leading to the development of chronic pancreatitis. The frequency of this pathology in general clinical practice ranges from 0.2 to 0.6%.
