Abstract

The effect of estrogen deficiency on the biochemical parameters of vascular dysfunction induced by type 2 diabetes in female rats was investigated. It was shown that hypoestrogenic state in combination with diabetes promotes more expressive manifestation of insulin resistance and enhances oxidative stress in the blood serum. However, estrogens level does not influence on the hyperglycemia development and changes in activity of nitric oxide synthase and heme oxygenase in the vessels of diabetic animals.
